A Story of Resilience and Hope
The Mayflower carries a story of resilience and hope that dates back to 1602 in England, a tumultuous time for the Anglican Church. The growing dissent led to the formation of reformed churches, including the congregation led by John Robinson, William Brewster, and William Bradford.
After internal divergences and religious persecutions, the group decided to emigrate to the Netherlands in search of religious tolerance. There, in Leiden, the group grew and strengthened under the leadership of Robinson and Brewster for over ten years.
