Usn Xf5F-1 Skyrocket

This 1:48 scale model depicts the distinctive Grumman XF5F-1 Skyrocket, an experimental twin-engine fighter designed for the U.S. Navy in the early years of World War II.

Developed in 1940, the XF5F-1 featured a unique short-nosed design with engines mounted ahead of the cockpit, providing outstanding climb performance and a highly unconventional appearance. Although it never entered production, it laid the groundwork for later aircraft like the F7F Tigercat and F8F Bearcat.
