Description

This 1:48 scale model depicts the powerful Lockheed PV-1 Ventura, one of the most effective U.S. Navy patrol and bomber aircraft, shown here in its Solomon Islands 1943 livery.

Developed from the Lockheed Hudson, the PV-1 Ventura was designed as a medium bomber and maritime patrol aircraft, capable of long-range reconnaissance, anti-submarine warfare, and coastal strike missions.

The fuselage features engraved panel lines, detailed Pratt & Whitney R-2800 radial engines, realistic three-blade propellers, a complete bomb bay, and a movable dorsal turret.

The cockpit and crew sections include accurate instrumentation, realistic seats, interior bulkheads, clear canopy glazing, and movable nose and rear gun stations.

Armament includes .50 cal Browning machine guns, depth charges, 500 lb bombs, and auxiliary fuel tanks for extended patrol missions.

High-quality decals represent the markings of VB-135 Squadron, featuring the authentic navy blue over light gray camouflage used during operations in the Solomon Islands.

A model that captures technical realism, naval aviation history, and the power and versatility of the PV-1 Ventura.
