The Ferrari Arno XI was much more than a simple hydroplane: it was a symbol of prestige, power, and Italian engineering. Built in 1953 by pilot and mechanic Achille Castoldi, in collaboration with Enzo Ferrari, this extraordinary hydroplane still holds the record for motorized hydroplanes.

The World Speed Record

In September 1953, at Lake Iseo in Italy, the Ferrari Arno XI set a new speed record for motorized hydroplanes: 150.49 miles per hour (242.97 km/h). 

This incredible achievement testifies to the power and technological capabilities of the hydroplane, confirming it as an undisputed icon of the world of powerboat racing and Italian engineering.
