Uss Indianapolis

This 1:350 scale model represents the legendary USS Indianapolis (CA-35), one of the most famous U.S. Navy heavy cruisers of World War II.

A Portland-class ship commissioned in 1932, the Indianapolis fought in the Pacific Theater, including Iwo Jima and Okinawa, before completing her secret mission of delivering components for the “Little Boy” atomic bomb to Tinian in July 1945. Days later, she was sunk by the Japanese submarine I-58, marking one of the most tragic naval events in American history.
