A Yorktown-class aircraft carrier launched in 1936, the Yorktown played a crucial role in the Pacific War, demonstrating exceptional durability and combat efficiency. During the Midway battle, she launched multiple strikes against the Japanese fleet before being sunk by the submarine I-168.
